Yesterday, Andrew Petty, of Petty Law Office in Arcola, helped us with the wording of our customer service agreements, including waivers and disclaimers.
While we absolutely plan to do quality work with the utmost care and safety, it's just good business sense to also do everything we can to protect our business.
Petty did his undergraduate studies in Florida, then attended the University of Illinois Law School, before returning to Miami to begin practicing law. After the 2008 economic downturn, he returned to Arcola to practice with his father, a longtime lawyer in Arcola who has since retired.
After considering our business ventures, Petty sat down with us individually to guide us through legal areas of concern and the wording of our business documents. He also taught us about some business legal terms like "common carrier", "DBA", and how we should consider becoming an LLC once our businesses succeed.
Local business owners like Andrew Petty are why the CEO program works. They take time out of their busy days to share their expertise and experience with us, and for that they have our unending thanks.
